Since 1996, Fitzgerald Frater has focused his legal practice on representing clients in complex civil and commercial law matters, particularly in the areas of construction law, creditor representation in bankruptcy, business ownership/partnership disputes, real estate disputes, non-compete agreements and enforcement of judgments.

In 2005, he formed Frater Law Firm, P.A., with the understanding that the greatest value he could offer clients was a sense of confidence that the matter at hand would be handled professionally and ethically with their best interests in mind. Trust and integrity remain the most important pillars of Fitzgerald’s legal practice.

Throughout his career, Fitzgerald has represented stakeholders including lenders, developers, owners, contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers in construction matters. He has also represented real estate brokers, business owners, shareholders and partners in business disputes. He practices before state and federal courts, arbitration panels, and private negotiations.

Fitzgerald has substantial jury trial experience. He has successfully assisted many clients to resolve multi-million-dollar disputes. In addition to Florida, Fitzgerald is also licensed to practice law in New York and New Jersey.

Fitzgerald has served in leadership positions and as a board member for several Southwest Florida-based community outreach programs and is an advocate for improving the lives of young people throughout Collier County. He and the firm regularly support charities and philanthropic causes that promote children’s education, youth recreational activities, fair access to legal services, and minority cultural awareness.

Fitzgerald is “AV Preeminent® Peer Review Rated” by Martindale-Hubbell®, a designation that is awarded to lawyers who have demonstrated the highest ethical standards and professional abilities.

A travel enthusiast, Fitzgerald particularly enjoys exploring Asia with his family.
